Harvest Moon. Jupiter. Rains.

November. Clear, brilliant days.

Sparkey will be up and running just as soon as we figure out a couple of computer odds and ends and then we’ll get back to groovin….

And here…in all of it’s 1990 mono-cassette one-go glory….live from Exit 104 off the I-5, it’s Olympia, where it was always raining and we sang about gardens when we thought about girls….

“Good Morning Mr. Sun”

It’s hot today.  super stinky hot.  hiding in the shop making riffs about the beach.  good morning.  Jalopy style.

“Oriental Man”

Waiting for the Northern Lights tonight… An old song by my friend Danny Kelly. His band was Heliotroupe from Olympia. Live and direct from the basement, via sun storms and outer space….

(P.S. ~ just learning some history here - Danny just wrote to say “ya know i sent it to Mark Eckert so he could listen… he actually wrote that song and it was the very first thing we recorded in the living room of the little white house…”  This makes me happy for reasons that only folks who lived in Olympia back in the day will fully understand.  Me, I only caught some of it myself.

PPSS - The fun of basement recording is that there isn’t anyone else around to save oneself from using too much reverb from time to time….  Check.  Guilty.  That’s grand.
